Drive to Arrive is a driver training business based in the South Lakes, established in 2004 by Peter Stas on his retirement from the police. His daughter Donna Watson has continued with the business incorporating police based methods in safe driving, defensive driving and advanced driving. Donna is a high grade instructor with advanced driver qualifications.Tuition is tailored to the individual, which for learners can include theory test preparation. Other aspects of driving are catered for including driver improvement, motorway, confidence building and driving in the workplace. We offer a free, no obligation client meeting for people interested in their services. This gives you the opportunity to meet the instructor and ask any questions. You will receive relevant information for your needs in the form of a personalised information pack. Based in Grange-over-Sands, learner lessons cover the local area but other levels are available throughout a wider area by negotiation.

As a photo is required for your licence the DVLA can use your passport photo if you have one. If you don't have one, or you want to use a different one, this will need to be sent to the DVLA separately. You can find costs for all licence types here. Before you start the hazard perception part of the test, you'll be shown a short video clip about how it works before being shown a series of video clips on a computer screen. The clips feature everyday road scenes and contain at least one developing hazard - but one of the clips will feature two developing hazards.
Tell me where you'd find the information for the recommended tyre pressures for this car and how tyre pressures should be checked. Manufacturer's guide, use a reliable pressure gauge, check and adjust pressures when tyres are cold, don't forget spare tyre, remember to refit valve caps. Tell me how you make sure your head restraint is correctly adjusted so it provides the best protection in the event of a crash.
Unfortuantely, statistics show that new drivers of any age are more likely to have a collission within the first two years of passing their test than at any other time in their driving career. While this is really just down to a lack of experience insurance premiums merely reflect the increased risk.

Donna was a fantastic driving instructor from start to finish, and was very calm and patient throughout the whole process. Each lesson was varied and structured to ensure that every element of driving was covered in preparation for my test. Donna's thorough teaching style has allowed me to be comfortable behind the wheel and I would recommend 'Drive to Arrive' to any new driver as I believe that without Donna I wouldn't have gained the confidence and skill to drive. Donna is a great driving instructor! She personalises her teaching approach based on your learning style and enabled me to pass my test first time, with just 1 minor. She also helped me compose myself and instilled confidence in me ahead of taking my test at a time when I may have had to wait 5 months before I could retake my test. Donna also dealt with the challenges of COVID restrictions very well and adapted to the situation. I now feel like I have the ability to drive safely and confidently. Thank you, Donna. There's a reason for the long waiting list.

Donna is a wonderful instructor. She helped me to pass my test with only 2 minors! Her teaching style is very clear and direct. I really liked how Donna explains a lot of the reasoning and logic behind certain driving rules. She has lots of great visualization tools as well, including hand-drawn maps of difficult round-abouts and even a mini toy car she keeps in the glove box to demonstrate maneuvers! She is very patient and supportive as well. I would definitely recommend Drive to Arrive. Thanks again Donna :

She was very professional, encouraging and approaches lessons with the aim of you learning all the usual driving skills that you will need, as well as helpful hints and tips that help you learn the why, not just the what. Donna from Drive to Arrive is an excellent teacher. Great communication throughout lessons and very friendly. She helps you grow confidence on the road quickly while keeping you safe, as well as making sure you are completely prepared for driving safely after you have passed. Donnas drive to arrive learning experience is nothing short of sublime. The confidence she grew in me as a new driver was something special that I don’t think I could find with anyone else. She kept me on top of everything and with my unorganised nature, it was incredibly useful. Her determination for you to become a confident, skilful driver was something that always kept me going and I could not recommend drive to arrive enough and overall you should defiantly grasp the opportunity to learn with drive to arrive.

I was really lucky to find Donna as my driving instructor.she was willing to work me into her busy schedule, and come to my dads house in the out of the way village where i am staying. She was always punctual, in communication.is honest and trustworthy and always "told me like it is" but gavevpraise when due. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to kearn, young or old :
