  • I would recommend this business

If you are looking to learn to drive. You definitely shouldn't look any further than Derek Lawton. He makes the lessons enjoyable, and he's professional yet manages to put even the most anxious and nervous learners (me) at ease. As an older learner I wasn't convinced I would ever manage to pass my test but with his patience and amazing instruction, he gave me both the skills and confidence in my ability, and I passed my test 1st time!

Derek is great at what he does. Patient, reassuring and able to build your confidence whilst at the wheel. 3 months after passing, I still remember things Derek taught me every time I drive. Highly recommended!

Do not stop opposite vehicles or obstructions if such positioning would not allow the emergency vehicle to pass (diagram 2). If you are about to emerge from a side roadand see or hear an emergency vehicle on the major road, do not try to emerge until it passes (diagram 3). If, whilst travelling across a traffic light junction, you become aware of an emergency vehicle approaching from either side, do not brake harshly. This maycause an accident. If you cannot stop by gradual braking keep travelling across the junction.

The practical driving test was initially introduced in the UK in 1935. During the intervening years several amendments have been made to keep the test up to date and make it more relevant to producing drives capable of being safe road users in the 21st century. The test will include an eye sight test (if you fail this the test will not continue). After the eye sight test you will be examined on your general driving and on 1 reversing exercises. The reversing exercises will be chosen from: Reversing round a corner, Turning in the road or a Reverse parking.

Current theory test cost is 23.00 PLEASE NOTE: some people have used GOOGLE to search for theory tests and have paid up to 48 to book a theory test. In November 2002 the theory test was changed, in addition to answering 35 multiple choice questions you are also tested for hazard perception awareness skills. You will sit this part of the test on completion of the theory test. You will need to pass both elements at the same sitting to pass your theory test. It is designed to improve the safety of newly qualified drivers and riders by making them think carefully about the right attitudes needed to drive safely on today's busy roads and reduce the risk of accidents.

Newly qualified drivers (especially young drivers) are at more risk in the first year after passing the test than at any other time in their driving career. One in five will have an accident. Pass Plus is a scheme that was introduced by the Driving Standards Agency in connection with most of the UK's leading insurance companies. The aim is to offer new drivers more training delivering and assessed by your driving instructor, to help you improve your driving skills and also receive a discount of up to 30% on your insurance policy.
