Atlas was established in 2008 and has a growing roster of friendly and fully-qualified male and female driving instructors throughout South London.

If you book a block of lessons with us you will be taught by the same instructor, using the same vehicle, from start to finish. We are experts with beginners and nervous pupils and teach all ages including under 17s.

We give both manual and automatic lessons, and if you would prefer to learn in your own car that's no problem.

We also welcome fleet bookings and can offer flexible learning schedules including weekly lessons, block bookings or intensive crash courses.

We also give advanced driving skills tuition (including Pass Plus which covers motorway driving and night driving) and refresher courses.

Customer Testimonials

This is the best driving school in the South Norwood area. They were really patient with me and I know that I am a slow learner. I am really grateful to them and will continue to recommend them to everyone.

I am going to learn to drive with this company, purely because both my children learnt to drive and passed their test with their Instructor Paul, all within 4 months.

From Our Website

I met this guy five days before my test and he was the difference between me passing and me failing. If the cost you're quoted is 'per lesson' then check to see what this actually means. At Atlas we recommend two hour lessons, but the minimum amount of time we'd call a lesson is one hour. Plus, make sure that your lesson time starts and ends when you get in or out of the driver's seat - and not when you get in a car driven by your instructor or another pupil. Anyone charging money for driving tuition has to be an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor).

The test takes an hour: 3 minutes preparation, then 57 minutes to answer 50 multiple choice questions (there are over a thousand possible, and yours will be chosen at random by the computer). To answer you touch the screen to make a choice, and you must answer at least 43/50 correctly to pass. You can skip any question and return to it before your time is up. This follows straight on from the theory test, and takes the form of fourteen 60-second video clips that simulate day-to-day driving seen from the driver's seat of a car.

When I first met Peter he immediately came across as a warm and cheerful character. He really helped calm my nerves and settle me into driving within the first hour of being in the car. I was in the driving seat in the first lessons and I was put through my paces from the start (this really does help you become more confident). He quickly adapted to the way I learn and and always found ways to help me improve my driving. Every week I saw progress in my ability and my confidence on the road. He always saw my strengths and weaknesses and would push me when he saw I wasn't up to my own standards.

Peter was both my and my boyfriend's driving instructor and is the reason we both passed first time within a month of each other! I started learning with another instructor but I felt I couldn't learn from them. I switched to Peter after my boyfriend recommended him. Best instructor ever! He is very adaptable. I am quite a perfectionist. Peter recognised this, so he made sure I had every manouevre practiced to the letter and pushed me to the best of my abilities. Although frustrating at times, this really paid off in the end.

A wonderful driving instructor, who taught me the skills I needed, and was so kind and patient with me when I made silly mistakes. At the beginning I was incredibly anxious, but Peter was totally reassuring when teaching me. Learning to drive was something I was really keen to do when I turned 17, and I am so pleased I had him to teach me such an important skill. I recommend him to absolutely everyone. Thank you so much again!

Looking for an instructor? You won't go wrong with Peter. He is passionate about teaching others to drive well and safely, dedicated to his pupils, and arrives promptly for your lessons. He is an excellent communicator (patient but firm), very knowledgeable and has a great teaching style and ethics. Most of all, he's a lot of fun! I've passed my test with one minor fault. You can check online now to see if we can take you on as a pupil and what it will cost - all we need is your postcode. The cheapest driving instructors aren't always the most cost-effective in the long run.

Our expert, friendly driving instructors also cover Waterloo, Newington, Elephant & Castle, St Saviours Estate. Our pupils enjoy a high pass rate. Without doubt, a fantastic instructor. I tried a few others and just felt that they were not pushing me in the right way - Peter did just that, and I was able to pass first time! I would have no hesitation in recommending him to others. Thank you Peter!

Just passed my test first time with only 5 minor errors, but I wouldn't have stood a chance without Peter's excellent tutelage. I was a very nervous driver when I started learning but he is very astute in tailoring his approach to the individual and he was able to help me build my confidence with each lesson. He has an open and honest way of teaching, is not afraid to tell you when you've done something wrong, and will always give you the encouragement and praise needed to help you become a good and safe driver.
